Nicole Ari Parker, an American actor, who has appeared on film and TV, in addition to on stage, is most well-known for portraying Teri Joseph, a flamboyant attorney in the show on Showtime called Soul Food. In the years following her marriage to her husband, she was referred to for her role as Nikki Kodjoe. The talent she displayed in her acting was apparent since childhood. A Maryland high-school competition awarded her the top actress prize. After her experience in the theatre and with "The Washington Ballet Company", she received an acting certificate from New York University. Her first major role as a character in The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love brought an immense amount of admiration. Films like Blue Streak and Boogie Nights Spark followed. Soul Food received a lot of reviews for her work. Her TV appearances include Second Time Around and Empire. Earlier in the career she acted in several stage productions. Parker has been active in politics and married model and actor Boris Kodjoe. The couple has two kids.
Contractor, born at Mumbai in India, was raised in Nigeria up until she turned seven. She'd been exposed to many different travels and cultures from a young age. When she was seven through nine, she attended boarding schools in London. The family later relocated to Toronto which she stayed in through the majority of her childhood. Contractor was a classical ballet student in Toronto. She was also a star academically. She attended the Etobicoke School of the Arts. This is a specialized high school that teaches arts which allowed her to not just study theater but danced as well. Contractor took the decision to study acting more seriously at age of 16 following almost 10 year of dance. When she graduated from high-school, she was offered a full tuition scholarship to University of Toronto where she studied theatre with a double diploma in sociology and psychology. Contractor was offered the lead role in Pericles following her one year stay at University. She auditioned for it in the Stratford Shakespeare Festival (Ontario Canada) and won. The show she played in 92 performances received acclaim from Canadian critics. The opportunity was presented to her to enroll in the Stratford Conservatory. It is a private institution that accepts just eight men and four women to take a course in traditional theatre. Contractor was eager to accept. The role was secured for Contractor in the next series of plays She was also offered Hermia's part for the role of Hermia A Midsummer Night's Dream.
